My Pink Stamper April Design Team Post

Welcome to our My Pink Stamper April Design Team Posts.  I have to say again how proud I am to be a part of this great & very talented design team.  Robyn's stamps are the best to work with.  They are all so cute & stamp so well.  This month our challenge was to make favors of any kind.  I made these for my nephews we we have our big family Easter celebration.
This was a very simple project, but I love how they turned out.  When making favors I tend to do them fairly simple.  As much as it pains me (LOL), the kids just rip them apart to get to the candy.   I filled some cello bags with candy & made some really cute bag toppers.

Glittered Snowman Ornaments & Giftbags

I make the favors for the holiday parties for my daughter's class.  This year I decided to do the glittered ornaments that have been going around for the past couple of years.  Then I saw a video that Momo made.  She did the glittered ornaments & decorated them to look like snowmen.  I just loved the idea & thought that the kids would enjoy them too.
The way I made the faces was:  For the charcoal eyes & mouth, I used black Liquid Embossing.  I painted on the carrot nose with acrylic paint.  Then to protect the nose & give it some shine & dimension, I added some Aleen's Paper Glaze over it.
I also used a pipe cleaner for the loop to hang it on the tree.
To glitter the inside of the ornament, I used the Pledge with Future Shine and Martha Stewart Fine Crystal Glitter. - I JUST LOVE THIS STUFF!!!!!!
I also had to make the gift bags for the ornaments.  I used the 3 1/4 x6 3/4 bags from Michaels.  For the snowman (I just thought that since i was giving a snowman ornament, that it was cute to use the snowman holding an ornament. - Ha Ha - I'm so easily amused!!  LOL) I used the Jolly Holidays cart.
For the topper I scored a 2 x 3 1/4 piece of cardstock in half.  Stamped Happy Holidays (Recollection Stamp Set:  Sugar & Spice).  On the back side we just wrote From:  Alexis.  I folded down the top inch of the bag & stapled it shut.  Then adhered the topper to the folded flap of the bag.
I used my Gypsy and Cricut to design & create the gift bag part of this project.

Alexis' 10 (Golden) Birthday Party Favors

For my daughter's birthday this year we decided to do something different.  Instead of having a party, she invited just 4 of her friends.  We took them to the movie & then to a nail salon to get their nails done.  It was so nice.  All of the girls got along so well.  They thoroughly enjoyed the movie & especially the nail salon.
Here is a pic of the party favors.
I made the purse using the Forever Young Cricut Cartridge  The emblem & fingernail polish came from the same cartridge.  The light pink oval on the emblem was run through the Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots Embossing Folder.  I added some liquid embossing on the red part of the fingernail polish bottle to make it look like glass.  I picked up the little bottles of polish & lip gloss from Wal-Mart.  It all fit great & they loved them.

Minnie & Micky Mouse Decorated Boxes

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JULIA!!!!!!!!
My niece Julia turns 5 this month. Wow, where does the time go? Her birthday party is themed around Minnie Mouse. My sister-in-law got these really cute boxes and asked me if I could decorate them in some way with Minnie Mouse. We didn't want to cover them, since the boxes were pretty on their own. So this is what I came up with. I do not have the Cricut Micky Mouse Cartridge, so I looked around for an SVG file. Kris of Scrappinbykris had one on her blog that she was sharing. Click HERE to check it out &/or to get her file.
I didn't find a file for Micky, so I just made a file using my Gypsy and the George & Basic Shapes Cricut Cart. We didn't really thing that the boys would care very much for a Minnie Mouse in a pink dress - LOL.

Valentines & Valentine's Party Favors

I made these for my daughter to give out for Valentine's Day. The heart and arrow were cut from the Hello Kitty Greeting Cricut Cart.
The Be My Valentine was cut from the Wild Card Cricut Cart.
Then I just adhered them to individual Valentine Lik-N-Dip Packs and wrote her name in the From space on the other side.

This pic is of the Valentine's Party favor bags that I made for my daughter's class.
For the topper I just cut white cardstock & scored down the middle, rounded the corners & inked with Tim Holtz's Distress Ink Pad (Worn Lipstick). I cut the red cardstock a little smaller, scored down the middle & rounded the corners. Then I used my Tonic Border Punch System with the Paisley II Punch to make the design across the front. (Info about the Tonic Border punch System is at the bottom of this post.) I have the Heats Punch on its way to me, but I was impatient & wanted to get these done over the weekend. I still think it is cute & the boys will like it too. I filled with Misc. Candy, Candy Love Beads, Bookmark, and Decorated Mini Nerds. I then stapled the white part of the topper to the bag. I layered the red part of the topper over the white (adhered with ATG), this hid the staple. From is stamped on the back of the topper & my daughter wrote in her name.

This is the bookmark that I made.
I cut red & white rectangles, just using my paper trimmer. I cut the red ones a little smaller for layering.
I used my Marvy 2 1/2" Scallop Square Punch (red - 2 for each bookmark) and the 2" Square Punch for the white. I ran the white squares through my Cuttlebug using the Love Stamp Embossing Folder. Then I used the Tonic 2-in-1 Arrowhead Corner Punch on the bottom of the white rectangles. The red rectangles were run through my Cuttlebug using the Doves & Hearts (Christmas Set) Sizzix Embossing Plates. I adhered the red rectangles the the white ones tucking the corners into the punched corners. I adhered the red squares on the top, white on top of that. I white doodle dots around the scallop square. I used a 2 slot hole punch on the top left corner & threaded ribbon & tied a knot bow. I then adhered the other red square to the back for a finished off look.

This is the covered Mini Nerds that I decorated.
The inspiration for this came from Angie @ Chic'n Scratch Live. You can see her video for her Valentine Nerds HERE. I'm sure her instructions were clear, but I was doing these in the middle of the night & was confused for some reason (not unusual for me in the middle of the night or not when it comes to measurements - LOL). So this is how I did them.
Red cardstock 4 5/16" x 1 5/8" - Scored @ 5 /16" on both ends then on one end @ 1 13/16" & 2 7/16". I ran it through my Cuttlebug using the Spots & Dots Embossing Folder
I cut the scallop tag from the Plantin School Book Cricut Cart. @ 1 1/2" in white & 1 1/2" shadow in red. I stamped in Worn Lipstick Distressed Inkpad the xoxoxo Studio G $1 Clear Stamps (Feb. Set) on the white tags. layered the white & red tags.
Tied a ribbon knot bow around the box. Using red thread attached the tags to the ribbon.

Completed Christmas Party Favors

These are the Christmas Party Favors all packaged up for my daughter's school party. You can see the details on all of the individual pieces here: Part 1 Wrapped Candy, Part 2 Santa Peppermint Patties, Part 3 Nugget Presents, Part 4 Kit Kat Wrapper, and Part 5 Ornaments.

This is what I consider the front side: Showing the Kit Kat Wrapper & the Wrapped Candy along with the tag (not showing to well.

For the tag I used Stretch Your Imagination for the snowman and the circle tags (I think). I made a shadow and regular cut of the circle tag. I used CDS to cut the snowman our of the green layer. I them used Pop Dots to adhere the positive snowman over the negative cut out. My daughter signed the back of the tags.

This is a pic of the backside: Showing the Ornament, Santa Suit Patties, and the Nugget Presents.

Christmas Party Favors - Part 5: Ornaments

Ok so this is the 5th element of my daughter's party favors.

Details:
Joys of the Season cart for the ornament.
Mini Monograms for the scallop circle.
Opposites Attract & CDS for the 2009.
Mod Podge
Diamond Dust - *See note at end of post!
Ink pads
Adhesive you choice.
For each ornament & cut it & the hanger piece out twice. Once regular & the other flipped. I adhered the 2 wrong sides together.
I inked around all edges & adhered the scallop circle to the front side of the ornament. I adhered the 2009 the the reverse side of the ornament.

Santa:
He was on some printed cardstock. I cut him out with my Tim Holtz scissors. I have to tell you, I Love These Scissors!!!!!!
Just on the white parts of Santa - I painted on some Mod Podge on then covered with the Diamond Dust. Then just on the Pom Pom & Santa's beard I added another layer of Mod Podge & Diamond Dust. Let dry. You can tell when it is getting dry b/c it turns more clear than white.

Now after all of that is dry:
I did this b/c I was giving this to kids & the experience I had with the Diamond Dust. I painted a coat of GLOSSY Mod Podge over the entire Santa, coating the Diamond Dust very well.
Reverse Side:
*Note: Just clean up this very well before moving about you house. I stepped on a piece of it & it was like having a little shard of glass in my foot. It came out easily, but very hard to see. Also didn't feel too good - LOL. This is the reason for adding a top coat of Mod Podge to keep any little pieces from falling off. And it gave a hard coat finish.

Christmas Party Favors - Part 4: Kit Kat Wrapper

I have seen so many different Kit Kat Wrappers on so many blogs & boards. Too many to give any one person credit. So let's just say that if you have ever made these & posted them somewhere - you can take some of the credit for this idea. Thank You!
Details:
Fits 2 mini Kit Kats
Doodlecharms Cart for the tree
Cuttlebug w/ Divine Swirls Embossing Folder
Snow-Tex
Opalescent Clear Glitter Glue
Terrifically Tacky Tape

Printed cardstock is cut at 5 1/8" x 3 1/2". It is scored at 1 1/8 and 1 7/8 from each end.
After cutting & adhering the tree layer to the base, I ran it through my Cuttlebug. I them stippled some Snow-Tex around the embossed areas of the tree (not being too careful, I didn't want to cover the entire tree top but I did want some texture & coverage). After that dried, I went of the edges & embossed areas of the tree top with the glitter glue. When that was dry I adhered the trees to the wrapper.

Christmas Party Favors - Part 3: Nugget Presents

OK so this is the 3rd part of the favor pack for my daughter's party.

The printed cardstock is cut at 1" x 3" and wrapped around each nugget. I then stacked 2 nuggets together attached with a glue dot. (This made it so much easier to tie the ribbon around them.) Wrapped with ribbon, tied a knot of top & trimmed ribbon.

Christmas Party Favors - Part 2: Santa Peppermint Patties

I originally wanted to do the cute little scallop circle Peppermint Patty Sandwiches that I have seen on the blogs & boards everywhere. But when I opened my pack of Peppermint Patties that were not just wrapped in the regular foil wrapping. They were in a plastic foil baggie making it more a rectangle shape. So this is what I came up with. Another take on the Santa Suit candy cover.

Details:
George & Basic Shapes Cart
CDS
Fiskars Paper Trimmer w/ Scallop Blade
Cuttlebug w/ Divine Swirls Embossing Folder
Adhesive of choice

Christmas Party Favors - Part 1: Wrapped Candy

This is the first part of the favors for my daughter's school Christmas Party.
Details:
TP Rolls cut in half to make the holders.
Wrapping Paper
Curling Ribbon
Heat Gun
UTEE mixed with (red) glitter
(?) Cart for the candy canes. For the life of me I can't remember which cart these came from.
CDS - used to hide the other piece of candy from the cuts.
Buttons & Ribbon
Adhesive of choice

Wrap the TP Rolls with the wrapping paper. Tie off one end with the curling ribbon. Fill with candy, toy, or whatever will fit & tie up the other end with curling ribbon. I put in 3 small individually wrapped candy canes. Curl the ribbon.

To decorate:
On the solid parts of the red candy cane pieces I used a Versamarker, covered with UTEE & glitter mixture & set with the heat gun. Repeat until you have the coverage you like (it took me about 3 times for solid coverage).

TIP: Zig 2-way glue works well too for the 1st application of the UTEE & Glitter. Then after heating - not long, go over that with the Versamarker & UTEE combo. one more time. I found that on the 1st application with the Zig glue - more of the UTEE & glitter was adhered.

Thread the button with ribbon & tie into a knot. Trim ribbon & adhere to candy canes. Then adhere the candy canes to the wrapped candy.

Thanksgiving Napkin Rings

I made these napkin rings for my daughter's Thanksgiving Feast at school. I got the idea from Brigit on the Cricut MB. HERE is the link to her turkey. Mine is made differently - but the idea is the same.

This 1st pic is showing the napkin ring standing up. (the colors are better in the 2nd pic. The orange feathers are not really so orange (more like a burnt orangey brown).

Details: (It seems like a lot - but was really easy.)
TP Roll cut in half for the ring.
Cardstock 4 x 5 3/4 (I think) to cover the TP Roll
Slit the edges & adhere to the inside of the TP Toll. They are long enough to pretty much cover the inside of the roll too. It gives it a more finished look.
Printed Paper 1 3/4 x 5 7/8 to wrap around the holder. (Optional)
Stretch Your Imagination Cart - Leaves (Feathers) (shift & black out) cut at 2" (about 13 per turkey)
Cut 1/2 of what you need flipped
Animal Kingdom Cart - Turkey orange (so the feet would show)
I cut off the feathers from this turkey. I also cut all of the layers in the appropriate colors & layers them.
Googly Eyes
I inked around the turkey body (also added shading between the body & wings) and all of the feathers with brown Color Box Pigment Ink.
I adhered the feathers to the back of the turkey in a pleasing pattern. They are all a little different. I made 14 of them.

In this pic they are laying down. I had to place 2 of them together b/c they rolled the the side.

Halloween Party Favors

These are the Halloween Party Favors that I made for my daughter's class. I covered toilet paper rolls with either orange or black cardstock. The I attached the Paper Doll Witches & Frankensteins to them. I cut out circles and attached them to the bottoms of the rolls with Zip Dry Glue (This stuff made an excellent bottom - holds great even when filled.)

I filled them with Skittles, Starbursts, Halloween Kaleidoscopes, Halloween Pencils, and Halloween Bookmarks.

Details:
Dolls are all Paper Doll Dress Up Cart.
Faces are Peachy Keen Stamps & hand doodled.
I used markers & gel pens to hand embellish the dolls & clothing.
Bookmarks: Base is from the Tags Bags Boxes & More Cart. The stacked pumpkins are from the Stretch Your Imagination Cart. I cut off the feet, arms, & scarf.
Tag is from the Plantin Schoolbook Cart. "BOO" is stamped from a Martha Stewart Halloween stamp set that I got on clearance at M's last year. I also edged with a black stamp pad

Standing & wrapped in Cello bags.

Water Bottle Party Favors

I want to Thank Scrapalette from the Cricut MB for this idea. She made 2 Liter Bottle Gifts & was kind enough to show us how she did it.
HERE is the link to her project & directions.
So I just did the same with the regular size water bottles. I thought it would be fun to see the "know-it-all" thirteen year old boys trying to get it open. And better yet trying to figure out how i got the big items in the bottle in the first place. All they wanted to do was cut it open to get the stuff out. Oh well, it was a fun way to package the favors anyway.

Kick Off To Summer Treats

I want to thank AprilDawn on the Cricut MB for posting this idea. Hers is so cute. I made these for my daughter's class for a "Kick Off Summer" treat.
Details:
I cut a 12x12 sheet of double sided cardstock in half. Scored it at 3 1/2 & folded to make a pocket. I used my Fiskars trimmer with the scallop blade to make the edges look like waves & layered a couple of layers in different colors of blue. I inked around the edges of the pocket.
I cut enjoy out with the Wildcard Cart.
I cut Summer out with the Stretch Your Imagination Cart.
I used blue, orange, & yellow glitter pens to decorate.
I also did the faux bow technique on the top. (hidden by the freezie pops)

Easter Baskets for Family Kids

Finally, here are the other Easter Baskets that I made.
I used Tags, Bags, Boxes, & More to cut the Nut Cup (fit to page on a 12x12 page). I was able to get 2 nut cups out of 1 sheet.
I used Mini Monograms for the scallops (circles & squares) & the regular circles & squares.
For the boys' baskets I just cut a strip of cardstock & punches a hole with my CAD. I attached the handle with brads.
For the girls' baskets i did the same except that I layered 2 strips of paper together. I also used wither the Threading Waters Border Punch or the Doily Border Punch. I also attached these with brads after punching the holes w. my CAD.
Close ups of the decorations on the front of the baskets. For the doodle dots, I used Metallic blue & purple Gel Writer Pens (the 100 pack from Sam's).

Easter Party Baskets & Bookmarks

I made these Easter baskets for my daughter's class Easter Party. I made 7 pink ones & 4 blue ones. Of course, I also had to make a bookmark to put in it.
Details:
For the basket I used a 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 piece of cardstock. I used my Ultimate Crafter's Companion to score the box. I used the instructions in the DVD for the Pop Out Box and scored on the line for Tri-fold of a US Letter on all four sides then scored the corners from the intersection to the point & folded in. Instead of making a box top, I just glued the points together in the center. This gave 4 triangle pockets on the sides of the basket. I just cut a strip of cardstock for the handle & glues to the inside.
Side 1:
Hopping Bunny is cut from the Cricut Sampler Cartridge. Colored in with LePlume II markers and added a piece of cotton ball for the tail.
Side 2:
Chick is cut from the Stretch Your Imagination Cartridge.
Side 3:
Circle & scallop circle is cut from the Mini Monograms Cartridge. The stamp is Studio G $1 Stamp on a wood block. Colored in with LePlume II markers. I also used a Metallic Pink (Metallic Blue on the boys') pen to make doodle dots around the scallop (doesn't show up in the pic).
Side 4:
The egg is cut from the Doodlecharms Cartridge. The lattice is cut from the Wild Card Cartridge. Also not showing up in the pic are Metallic Yellow doodle dots at the intersection points of the lattice. On the boy's baskets the colors are reversed for the egg.
The Bookmark:
The tag and the grass is cut from the Plantin Schoolbook Cartridge. The bunny is cut from the Stretch Your Imagination Cartridge. The eggs and basket are from the Doodlecharms Cartridge. I used ColorBox Pigment Inks to ink around the edges. I used LePlume II markers for coloring in on the bunny & basket. I also used the Fastenator & colored staples to attach the ribbon on the tag. The only difference with the boy's bookmarks is that the tag is blue instead of purple.

Valentine's Party Favors

Well, these are the party favors for my daughter's second grade class. I was having a hard time with how to make favors for boys for Valentines day that were not too "girly". Well, they will like the candy inside anyway.
I made 4 red ones for the boys. I stamped the red cardstock with white ink. I used the XOXOXO stamp in the Studio G Feb. set. Then I made bookmarks (using CDS to weld hearts & a rectangle) stamped with red on red hearts & layered silhouette ans solid hearts on the ends of the bookmark. I used white ribbon with red hearts on the end of the bookmarks and to attach them to the sour cream containers. Click HERE for instructions. I also used my crimper & Terrifically Tacky Tape to seal the edges. To make the containers I used 8 x 5 1/2 cardstock. I wanted these to be a little bigger. They are filled with a mini fruit roll up, a fruit by the foot, and a plastic heart maze.
I made 7 pink ones for the girls. The girl's containers are pink with red hearts stamped (misc. stamp that I picked up somewhere). For the bookmarks I used a deeper pink & stamped love on them from the Feb. Studio G set. I made the ends of these with white & lighter pink hearts. The ribbon on these where pink with red hearts.

Valentines

Well here are the Valentines that I made for my daughter to give out in her class.  I am also in charge of the favors (Yea!!, I'm so happy to do this.  It gives me another reason to play with my Cricut stuff.).  So, the Valentine's Party Favors will be posted as soon as I get them finished.  BTW, sorry for the blurry pics.
This is a pic of the entire bunch.  There are only 11 children in her class.  I used Jolly Rancher heart shaped suckers.  I cut Cardstock approx. 3x6.  I stamped the cut cardstock with hearts from the Feb. set of  Studio G Stamps.  The pink I stamped with red ink and the red I stamped with white ink.  I put a glue dot on both sides of the sucker & attached the folded cardstock.  I used red and white for the boys (I didn't want them to be too girly) and pink, white, and red for the girls.  Very Simple.
This is the back.  I used Doodle Charms for  the hearts & layered.  I used a To: From: stamp from a Stampin Up set that I had gotten from a garage sale at my son's school a while back. and my daughter signed them.  I attached them with glue dots.  (She forgot to put her name on this one b-4 I took the pic.  Good thing I chose this one for the pic.)
And, this is the front.  I used Mini Monograms for the scallops and the holey circle.  I used another stamp from the Feb. Studio G stamp set.  I attached them all with clue dots.
Thanks for looking.  All questions and comments are always welcomed.

More Halloween Party Treats

You might have seen the Halloween Treats that I made for my daughter's Halloween Party. If not, click here to see them.
Well one of the room moms called me to ask if I could bring favors for the party. So this is what I made. I adapted this from Dawn's Frankie Card.

I just made flat faces & adhered them to a paper lunch bag & filled with candy. For the hair, instead of cutting out the jagged edge, I used the MS Drippy Goo Punch. I thought that added a little different touch. I used CDS to cut all of the circles & welded the white parts of the eyes together. I cut the circles at: white 1 3/4", green 1 3/4", & black 3/4". I used George & Basic Shapes for the circles & Opposites Attract for the bolts in his neck (T). I used my white Gelly Pen for the accents on the eyes. I inked over the hair & around the face with purple ink & with green ink around the eyelids & noses. I did the mouths & scars freehand. I also mage all of the face look a little different. The stamp is from the dollar bin at Target. Thanks for looking. Comments & questions are always welcomed.
